The Peewee AA Pickering Panthers team were victorious battling the Cambridge Hawks in action this weekend during the Ajax Break the Ice hockey tournament. The Panthers began their weekend with a 7-1 win vs the West Hill Golden Hawks (GTHL) Thursday evening and finished with a 2-1 record in round robin play. A big win vs the hometown Ajax Knights (OMHA) earlier in the day led the Panthers to the finals vs the Cambridge Hawks  (Alliance Hockey) who posted a 3-0 record in the first round.

Late in the first period, Tyler Lasitz notched in the tying goal making it a 1-1 game. A late goal scored by Ayden Despres, and a key breakaway save late in the 3rd period by Declan Swatton sealed the deal for the Panthers in the championship game held at the Ajax Community Centre Sunday September 9.
