Oshawa Generals trade Vande Sompel to his hometown London Knights

The Oshawa Generals have sent their veteran Defenseman Mitchell Vande Sompel to the London Knights in return for rookie Defenseman Ian Blacker and draft picks.

“Mitchell is a former 1st round pick of the Generals and a coveted player by our organization and a fantastic player for the time he was here” said Vice President and General Manager Roger Hunt. “He has phenomenal skating ability which allows him to be a threat offensive and defensively on the ice.”

Mitch was drafted by the Islanders following their Memorial Cup win in 2015.

In return, the Generals also receive draft picks:

2 x 2nd

1 x 3rd

1 x 3rd Cond.

Blacker (-1) is a 4th round selection that saw 23 games and finished with 0 pts with London in his rookie season.
