After taking the lead in the 10th inning of Game 4 of the 2012 World Series, the Giants have swept the Detroit Tigers by a score of 4-3. Marco Scutaro took the lead in the 10th inning on a line drive to center fielder Austin Jackson. Ryan Theriot scored while Scutaro advanced to 2nd on the throw. Sergio Romo had 3 back to back strike-outs in the 10th to end the game and put a quick stop to the Tigers chances of a game 5. Miguel Cabrera was the last out to go down by 2 sliders, and a four seam fastball to end the game.

Santiago Casilla is credited with the win and Romo earns the save. Phil Coke was the losing pitcher for the Tigers. After the Detroit Tigers took out the Cardinals, I do not think anyone expected to see the Tigers swept by the Giants. Pablo “Panda” Sandoval was awarded MVP if there was ever a doubt after such an incredible playoffs.
